Pizza Man Fire in Milwaukee
I had only been there once, but I think I can still say I will miss their amazing cheesy garlic bread. Since the area is very difficult to get to, and the photos various media outlets have taken are really crappy, I thought I'd take a couple for those wondering what the damage is like. It looks like they were still extinguishing some of the fire, 30 hours later.

Storefronts Revamped - Jeremy Novy is an artist which paints over boarded up buildings and houses to improve aesthetics in neighborhoods, including the State Street Theater in Milwaukee (pictured).

On Traffic
It's stupid stuff like this which seems to occur daily that doubles my commute home.
Some trailer overturned spilling dirt and trees all over I-94 west by Miller Park. All the lanes were closed when I passed by. (would suggest an alternate route)

The Great Circus Parade
Great Circus Parade made it's way through Milwaukee, WI today. I don't know if it's because I'm getting old, or the heat... but the parade seemed long, spaced out, and a bit redundant to me.
What was most interesting was the events leading up to the parade. People were so intent on getting good seats many people started camping out Friday night on the curb of the parade route.
And right before the parade there were a mass of people drawing circles in the middle of the street. When I asked one man why everyone was drawing circles, he said "If an animal poops in this circle, my friends have to buy me a shot". Yup, a drinking game involving sidewalk chalk, a parade, and feces.

Summerfest Opening Night
The first night of Summerfest was tonight. There were no bands I was interested in seeing tonight so I just went for the fireworks. No interesting groups all run, really, except 'The Roots' next Friday.

Jazz in the Park
Went to the first night of Jazz in the Park downtown Milwaukee, WI. It was enjoyable... the music was good, the crowd wasn't too big, and it was a beautiful day out. I snapped a few photos, enjoy:

Mayor Barrett's Comprehensive Transit Strategy for Milwaukee - Word on the street is that this proposal has been approved. Which is great, because the current bus system can't get me from anywhere to anywhere else. The downtown streetcar and express bus to the UWM campus is going to be awesome. (Thanks Tad!)
