Dark Side Arises for Phone Apps - The WSJ has a good point-- while the intense vetting process for applications on iPhone might be a pain for developers, their apps are most likely to be secure: not steal personal data, delete things off the phone, etc. While Apple let one game through that was uploading user's contact lists to their server-- they're likely to now be monitoring all network traffic when they approve applications now. Google has no such process.
